'Halloween 3D' Headed Our Way

Despite coming in 3rd at the box office this last weekend, the Weinstein Co. is planning a third film to the series by next year! "Halloween II" which only made $16 million over the weekend, was enough for the Weinstein's to green light a third film which is being developed for 3D. It is ironic that the Weinstein's will seek to use the very element that out did them at the box office last weekend, but I am sure when "Halloween 3D" releases it too...

Disney Consumes Marvel!

Woke up this morning to the shocking, thrilling and perplexing news that Walt Disney Co. had acquired Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion dollars! Wow, way to shake up the industry. Twitter went nuts for a good two hours with thousands of tweets of both negative and positive reaction. As I marinated over the idea, I began to grow only more and excited at all of the prospects that could happen. For all the details on what this means for both Disney...

Another 'Bad Boys' Looms

A high octane action series I have always enjoyed is Bad Boys! I mean come on, who doesn't love Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's banter mixed with automatic weapons, fast cars and of course outrageous Michael Bay explosions? Columbia Pictures with the same assumption as I has gone and hired a writer to hash out a script for a third Bad Boys action that would reunite Will Smith, Martin Lawrence and Michael Bay. Just who has Columbia hired to pen...

The 3 new posters highlight more of the decimation that we will witness in the over-the-top destruction film releasing November 13th. Certainly the point of watching "2012" is all for the daunting special effects and seeing absolute destruction to the world we know, but the official synopsis is: An epic...

Trailer: The Descent 2

One horror film of the last 5 years that is definitely worth a viewing is The Descent by Neil Marshall. One film I never expected a sequel to is the very same movie. It seemed pointless and unnecessary and I for one hated the idea. Until I saw the first trailer some months back. The sequel picks up right where the original left off and looks like it may be a worthwhile attempt. The official synopsis reads: Terror mounts as fear cuts deeper in the...

Zombie to Ruin Another Classic

Last night prior to watching an actual good horror film, news broke that musician and director Rob Zombie has announced his next directorial effort. Unfortunately it will not be "Tyrannosaurus Rex" which will probably never happen. Instead Zombie told Variety he is looking to "break out of the horror genre" and will do so by remaking the 1958 classic The Blob with Dimension Films. Read the full report below....

Trailer: Armored

A brand new trailer for Nimrod Antal's "Armored" has hit the net and I have it here for you below. I am not quite sure what to make of Antal's latest. It has a solid cast and looks to have some sweet action, but overall leaves me thinking it's just another generic action flick. Unfortunately, the newest trailer doesn't do much to get more enticed either. The trailer, like too many other now days, is way too revealing and most likely reveals all...

Trailer: The House of the Devil

Yesterday I gave you the hauntingly wonderful "The House of the Devil" poster and today I have the first trailer for the film written and directed by Ti West. New Antichrist Still!

MTV has premiered a brand new behind the scenes still of actress Charlotte Gainsbourg and director Lars Von Trier on set in his latest ultra graphic horror "Antichrist". The candid photo is a nice look at Gainsbourg in between takes, where she is dawning a very nice smile, something you won't see much of in the film. "Antichrist" took Cannes by storm with its extremely graphic nature and follows the story of a husband and wife who after a tragic...

New Sequels in Development

Today comes two stories in one post! News has broke around the net on two films getting sequels that I really can't get too excited about. One is a sequel I expected since the film released in 2008, while the other sequel has been rumored for a few years but now may very well actually have grown some legs. What films you ask are being sequalized? I am speaking about a sequel to Hancock and a sequel to The Wizard of Oz. Read more details about both...

'Holmes' Moriarty Rumors Swirl

A interesting rumor popped up this week stating that Brad Pitt may in fact have a small cameo in Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. A London tabloid broke the rumor stating that Warner Bros. wanted a bigger setup of Sherlock Holmes most well known nemesis Moriarty, and Pitt would play him. Warner Brothers quickly debunked the tabloid claim seeming to hush the rumor, but yesterday MTV and Latino Review broke...

'Millions' & 'Dirty' Remakes

Unfortunately, today's post is yet another example of Hollywood dumpster diving for previous titles to rake in some quick cash. Alas, two more remakes have been green-lit. One of them being a hell of a lot more popular than the other, but the other having numerous incarnations throughout the years in film making. Scroll down to read the details on a "Brewster's Millions" and "Dirty Dancing" remakes....

Poster: Antichrist

One film that I definitely am dying to see this year in Lars von Trier's "Antichrist". The film has recieved an enormous amount of buzz based off the shocking nature to the film and the latest poster is a verbal reminder of that buzz. The new poster is simple with critic reviews pasted down the middle. The poster also reminds the on-looker exactly why the film is rated R. The poster is perfect because it will definitely weed out people who would...

Zemeckis 'Yellow Submarine'

On no, I really hope this ends up not happening! Variety has broke a story that Robert Zemeckis and Disney are eyeing The Beatles classic animated film "Yellow Submarine". Trailer: Avatar

One film that I have become less and less interested in is James Cameron's "Avatar". I love James Cameron and all, but I think people have gotten a little too excited over a director who hasn't made a film since 1997! I skipped the Comic Con panel and will not be attending 19 minutes of "Avatar" tomorrow in IMAX 3D. Quite honestly, I think I would have been happier if I didn't even watch this brand new trailer and just waited till December 18th...

Trailer: The Wolfman

I was very skeptical about Universal's "The Wolfman" and then this morning hit. I watched the trailer and was surprised that that all my fears may be for not! Joe Johnston looks to have nailed the vibe and Wolfman looks perfect (even in the small glimpses we got). The trailer sets up the story of the Wolfman legacy and introduces Benicio Del Toro coming home to visit his family prior to being attacked by a werewolf. From there, you get the picture!...

'Wolfman' Shows Some Paw

A film I was once ecstatic about is Universal's update of "The Wolfman", but the film has been pushed, prodded and changed so many times I am not sure what to think of it. The biggest indicator that the movie could be a colossal waste of time was when Universal pushed the film from a prime November release to February of next year! January - February have always been a time for terrible releases! Despite my interests decreasing over time a brand...

New 'Halloween 2' Image

Not sure how I feel about this latest picture of Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's "Halloween 2". The pictured debuted over at IGN, but I have it here for you to look at below. In the picture, Strode is wearing a very familiar costume we can remember the young Michael Myers wearing in Zombie's first Halloween. Most likely this image comes from a dream sequence Lauri has, but who knows, maybe she decides to join her older brother in a killing spree!...

Marvel Teases Whiplash

One thing fans of Iron Man have been wondering is the first released image of Whiplash from "Iron Man 2" is just an early design of his armor or will this be his final suit. Marvel has given fans what could be a indicator of what Ivan final suit could look like. In order to bolster anticipation and also give some back story to the character, Marvel is releasing a limited 4-Part series called Iron Man vs. Whiplash kicking off this November with the...

25 Anticipated Films Part V

At long last we have arrived at the conclusion to Schofizzy's Top 25 Most Anticipated Films Left in 2009. Every film in Part V, I can't stress enough how much I want to see. Three out of the final five films are directed by a few my favorite directors to date and feature actors that are held in equal regard. What is most surprising of the final five is two of the five films are children's book I grew up with. I never thought a day would come when...
