Crank Duo Eyeing Ghost Rider

Sony/Columbia has been moving fairly slowly on developing a sequel to the 2007 Ghost Rider. The Marvel comic was widely panned by critics but was able to make a substantial profit at the Box Offices worldwide. With potential to make a fistful of money again, there is no reason to question why the studio is moving forward with "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance." Columbia Pictures are moving forward with their recent acquisition of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. News broke today that the studio has hired the guys who penned the upcoming "Predators" movie, Mike Finch and Alex Litvak. Columbia Buys 'Supermax'

Yesterday Bloody Disgusting broke a scoop that Columbia Pictures has acquired the film rights to Christopher Allen Nelson and Mitch Rouse's super-natural horror script titled "Supermax". The film is described as follows; "Supermax" takes place in a Maximum Security Prison for the Super-Natural as a skilled guard must join forces with a lethal inmate after a riot ensues in order to fight his way through various monsters and mad-men in order to survive. DeVon Franklin and Doug Belgrad will serve as executive producers for Sony and Broken Road Productions also aligned with the film have Sean Robins and Todd Garner executive producing as well.
