'Halloween 3D' Headed Our Way

Despite coming in 3rd at the box office this last weekend, the Weinstein Co. is planning a third film to the series by next year! "Halloween II" which only made $16 million over the weekend, was enough for the Weinstein's to green light a third film which is being developed for 3D. It is ironic that the Weinstein's will seek to use the very element that out did them at the box office last weekend, but I am sure when "Halloween 3D" releases it too will not place first at the box office. For the full story, see below...

It is fairly certain that Rob Zombie director of the last two installments of Michael Myers will not return. Thankfully, Zombie has said in previous interviews that he feels he has said all he needs to say on the series. He instead will turn his attention to remaking the 1958 SciFi classic "The Blob". Bob Weinstein told the LA Times that the studio is currently seeking a new director and hopes to have the film ready to release by next summer. Weinstein also told the Times that the un-named director, who has experience in the horror genre has a very different take on the franchise.

The original Halloween III: Season of the Witch did not in fact even have Michael Myers apart of the film. Instead, the film revolved around deadly Halloween masks that when worn could potentially kill the wearer and cause mass hysteria. I recently re-watched the third film and had a good time with the flick. I remember hating it when it released, but it was fun for what it was now. There is no word if the third Halloween film from the Weinstein's would follow the same pattern as the original franachise or if they will just ressurect Myers once agin, but there is no doubt the film is happening and a director should be announced sooner than later. Stay tuned as more develops on "Halloween 3D"...

What say you? Does a 3rd Halloween sound even remotely interesting? Strikeback...
