Poltergeist Remake Happening

There is not a whole lot of breaking news news here, but Shock Till You Drop has word that the long talked of "Poltergeist" remake has locked in a release date. The film will be released on November 24th, 2010. I hate the idea of this film being remade simply because it was the first film that scared the crap out of me. The original Tobe Hopper horror opened my eyes to a whole new genre and my life has never been the same.

The update of Poltergeist has The House of Sand and Fog director Vadim Perelman attached to direct, but no start date was announced with the release date news. Perelman's 2003 film was amazing and I hope he can bring something fresh to the original haunting film. Perelman will be working off a script penned by Stiles White and Juliet Snowden who wrote the craptastic 2005 film Boogeyman. No castings have been reported as of yet for the horror remake either.
