A few years back a co-worker endlessly praised a book titled "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" written by Tucker Max to me. He would periodically tell me various stories from the book and rant about all of the belligerence Tucker's book boasted about. Most of what he told me seemed like typical frat boy drunken tales that were exaggerated for shock value. One day while in a Borders bookstore I came across the book and sat down with a few other graphic novels intending to read for a few hours. I read one of the twelve stories "Quite the Vacation" and I was threw. I didn't need to read further, his boastful escapades wasn't what I found interesting in the slighest. I would much rather settle into World War Hulk in it's entirity and so I did. From that point on I have not paid any attention of Tucker Max's press. Today however the first trailer found it's way on to the internet and I got it here for you below...
The film follows one of his stories included in I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell titled "Tucker Goes to Vegas". The trailer delivers an all too familar road trip comedy about 3 friends going to Vegas. This type of comedy has grown very tired for me, even though I did like this year's The Hangover. The one thing I did notice after watching the trailer is Tucker Max's shovanistic masculinity seemed to be toned way down compared to the book. See for yourself below. "I Hope They Serve Beers in Hell" releases October 16th is directed by Bob Gosse and stars Matt Czuchry as Tucker Max, Jesse Bradford and Geoff Stults as his two best friends that go with Tucker to Vegas.
