Unfortunately, Simon Pegg has had to drop out of Tarantino's "Inglorious Bastards" because of scheduling conflicts! Pegg recently added to his MySpace blog by saying, "Much to our mutual disappointment, I won't be appearing in QT's forthcoming Inglorious Bastards due to insurmountable scheduling difficulties. We really tried to make it work but in the end, it just was not possible without severe ramifications elsewhere." While this isn't the biggest blow, the cast just got a whole lot less-funny! Simon Pegg is a class-act and a fucking brilliant comedian, who I would have loved under the direction of Tarantino!
Pegg better be doing something damn funny to not be in Bastards, just what is his "insurmountable scheduling difficulties?" So why can't he do it? Pegg, to his credit has written two films, "Paul" and "The World's End" which have 2009 and 2010 release dates respectively, so I am sure he is busy (I just wanted him in the film)! "Paul" has landed "Superbad" director Greg Mottola, in the film Pegg and his long time co-star Nick Frost will play (big surprise) friends, who go on a road trip in the U.S. ("Paul" could have waited, Pegg would have been awesome in Inglorious Bastards)!
In related Inglorious Bastards news:Samm Levine (Freaks and Geeks) has been cast in Inglorious Bastards. This adds another funny man to the bunch of actors already casted. David Krumholtz has also dropped out of the filming of Inglorious Bastards. Levine may be replacing Krumholtz for the part of one of Aldo Snow's (Brad Pitt) recruited soldiers. The two played brothers on the television show Freeks and Geeks, so it would be ironic for Levine to replace him. Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, B.J. Novack, Natassja Kinski, and (rumored) Mike Myers rounds out the rest of the cast. There is plenty more casting to come for sure on Inglorious Bastards, shooting begins this Fall!
Thoughts on Pegg out of Inglorious Bastards? Is it just me or was Pegg the funniest person in the cast? Levine for Krumholtz any big difference? Discuss...
