Schofizzy's 20 Most Anticipated Fall Movies (Part 1 of 4)

Seems how fall (although if you live in California like I, it sure doesn't feel like it!) is vastly approaching, I figured I'd give you all my 20 most anticipated films of the next three months! Being the home stretch and oscar season we are bound to find some diamonds in the rough out there, but here are 20 films that I have had my eyes on for a while now and all look quite good and some look phenominal! There were a few that almost made the list, but ultimately they are absent! Enjoy the countdown...

20. REPO! A GENETIC OPERA
Being a huge fan of musicals, Repo! jumped out at me from the first thing I heard. With a look that seems to cross between Dune, Brazil, and Saw, I have been following along waiting for the film to release. The film is set in a time when organ failures have devastated the planet! GeneCo emerges from the disaster and begins doing organ transplants for profit, meanwhile they also implement a plan of repossession! The film is set for a release date of November 7th and stars Anthony Head, Alexa Vega, Paul Sorvino, Sarah Brightman, Paris Hilton, Bill Moseley, and Nivek Ogre. Unfortunatley reviews have not been so hot, thus why it sits at number twenty, but I regardless want to see it!

19. HOUNDDOG
Hounddog is the Dakota Fanning film that has recieved alot of buzz since its 2007 Sundance screening. All of the concern came because of a rape scene involving Fanning in the film. The film will open in 500 North American theaters September 19th, and stars Robin Wright Penn, David Morse, Dakota Fanning, and Jill Scott. The film follows Fanning, the troubled teen who finds solace from her abusive life in Blues music. Fanning is definately growing up and she is definately starting to choose her work more carefully. Personally, I like the fact that she is doing something risky perse, instead of just another cookie-cutter Disney movie or somthing.

18. TRANSPORTER 3
Statham is back as Frank Martin and this time he has a device attached to his arm that if he removes will blow up! The third installment is directed by Olivier Megaton and looks to be on the same level as the last two! Fast Cars, loud guns, awesome stunts, quick paced fighting, and Statham kicking some ass! Statham in the Transporter series is one of my fav's eventhough it is very mindless action. Transporter 3 comes zooming at you November 26th! (Check out the trailer here)

17. CITY OF EMBER
City of Ember follows two children Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow; they live in the City of Ember, where the sky is always as dark as the darkest night. As Ember's power source begins to fail and the lamps start to flicker, they search for clues that will unlock ancient mysteries about the city and save the people of Ember before it's too late. The imagery alone in City of Ember is what has drawn me to it, and including the bonus of Bill Murray as the Mayor of Ember. The film has been adapted by the Walden Media book written by Jeanne Duprau and is being directed by Gil Kenan. City of Ember hits theaters October 10th and stars Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Saoirse Ronan, and Harry Treadaway.

16.QUANTUM OF SOLACE
Daniel Craig's second attempt at Bond is coming at us this fall and although it's title is considerably lacking, the film looks promising. I am a huge Bond film fan, (I could careless really about reading the books) more particularly a huge Roger Moore Bond fan, that's right Roger Moore! His style and attitude were so fun in the 70s and his campy personna was a nice change to the sterling performance by Sean Connery. I even really like Peirce Brosnan but, I have hated the idea of Craig as Bond since he was cast in Casino Royale. A blonde haired, blue eyed, Bond? Huh, I just dont get it. That said, Craig was great in Casino Royale and Casino Royale was a great addition to the Bond collection, but everytime I look at him, I say that's not Bond! I just find it distracting throughout the film. All that aside, this next installment of Bond looks to be quite good and should really add a whole new level to Bond. As always, the title plays a huge meaning in the film. Quantum of Solace hits you November 14th!
