Seems how fall (although if you live in California like I, it sure doesn't feel like it!) is vastly approaching, I figured I'd give you all my 20 most anticipated films of the next three months! Being the home stretch and oscar season we are bound to find some diamonds in the rough out there, but here are 20 films that I have had my eyes on for a while now and all look quite good and some look phenominal! There were a few that almost made the list, but ultimately they are absent! Continuing along in the countdown, here's 15-11...
Oliver Stone loves to stir things up with his films and he doesn't look to be holding back in the slighest here, with his newest film, "W." W is the story of our 43rd and still current President. Josh Brolin hot off his success from No Country for Old Men has been casted as W himself and Elizabeth Banks will play is wife Laura. Rounding out the rest of the cast and Bush's cabinent are Richard Dreyfuss as Dick Cheney, Ioan Gruffudd as Tony Blair, Scott Glenn as Donald Rumsfeld, Toby Jones as Karl Rove, Jeffery Wright as Colin Powell, and James Cromwell playing George Bush senior. Stone as described the film as a three-act film (aren't they all) starting with Bush as a young man "with a missed life", followed by his transformation and "an assertion of will which was amazingly powerful" as he came out from his father's shadow, and finally his invasion of Iraq. Stone has also said the film has a tone that will remind us of Dr. Strangelove and Network. This film looks to be a fun ride however it plays out, I am wondering how well the film will play and if their will be any backlash from it. Oliver Stone is generally a director I take with a grain of salt, most of his films are so heavily contrived that they become tiresome. One can hope W. will measure up to the likes of Stone's masterpieces JFK and Platoon and you'll be able to find out on October 17th. 
Jamie Bell and Sophie Miles star in this indie gem that premiered at the Berlin Film Festival back in 2007. It is set to release here in the U.S. on September 5th in a limited release. Based on the screenplay by Ed Whitmore and based on the novel by Peter Jinks, the story follows Hallem Foe, a troubled young man whose knack for voyeurism paradoxically reveals his darkest fears, and his most peculiar desires. A 17-year-old misfit, Hallam spends his days spying on people from a tree house on the grounds of his father's (Ciarán Hinds) house in the Scottish Highlands. He’s almost over the sudden death of his mother when he begins to suspect that his beautiful step mother (Claire Forlani) may have had a played a hand in it. Confusing matters even more for Hallam, he is incredibly attracted to her. After an ugly confrontation, Hallam runs away to Edinburgh. Out of money and out of friends, he finds his tree-top skills well suited to the rooftops of the city, where he lives ferally, peering through windows and attempting to avoid the perils of the streets below. He soon spies and becomes obsessed with a gorgeous girl named Kate (Sophia Myles), who happens to bear an uncanny resemblance to his mother. Will love get Hallam to come down from off of the roof? 
From the director that brought us the beautiful film "Children of Men" comes "Flash of Genius". A film that is based off the New Yorker article of the same name written by John Seabrook. In the film Robert Kearns (Gregg Kinnear) takes on the Detroit automakers who he claims stole his idea for the intermittent windshield wiper. This film looks to be great especially with helmer Robert Kearns directing and Gregg Kinnear who is always a highlight of any film! Alan Alda, Dermot Mulroney, and Laura Graham also star in Flash of Genius which hits theaters October 3rd. (Check out the trailer here) 
Ridley Scott is back with Russel Crowe again thi s time helming a story that is based off a novel of the same name written by David Ignatius about a CIA operative who goes to Jordan to track a high-ranking terrorist. While in Jordan, the operative forms an uneasy alliance with the head of Jordan's covert operations. Leonardo DiCaprio will play Roger Ferris. the CIA operative. While Crowe will play Ed Hoffman, a manipulative CIA boss who teams with Ferris. The first trailer for the film is amazing and Ridley Scott has been one of my favorite directors since I was subjected to his one of many masterpiece's Alien as a small child! Russell Crowe and Scott have made four films together and look to have developed quite a bond together. Body of Lies hits theaters October 10th 
Alan Ball (Six Feet Under) makes his feature directorial debut with this adaptation of Alicia Erian's 2005 novel about a young girl bounced between her American mother (Maria Bello) and Lebanese father (Peter Macdissi). Set against the backdrop of the first Gulf War, Towelhead is an affecting, darkly comic portrait of racial and sexual alienation lurking beneath the wholesome façade of suburban America. The film is set for a limited release September 12th and has recently had somewhat of a backlash surrounding its title. The Council on American-Islamic Relations has released a press release saying, "The word ('towelhead') is commonly used in a derogatory manner against people of the Muslim faith or Arab origin. The use of such a derogatory term by a major film studio will serve to increase its acceptability in public discourse." The point of the film is that the young girl overcomes the slurs and embraces her identity as an Arab-American. I guess the CAIR missed the point, most likely they haven't even seen the film! Regardless Aaron Eckhart, Mario Bello, and Summer Bishil, who I hear delivers one hell of a strong performance star in the film!
