Here are some new one-sheets and their synopsis of some upcoming films that have caught my eye! All of these films are releasing in September or October and look to be quailty cinema. Scroll down to check out the new one-sheets and a brief synopsis!
The Pool releases September 3rd. Written by Smith and Randy Russell, a fable set in neighborhoods of poverty and privilege in Goa, India. 18-year-old Venkatesh ekes out a living working in a hotel and pounding the pavement selling plastic bags. It's a far cry from his fantasy - to dive into the glimmering, David Hockney-esque swimming pool of an upper-class family. After he befriends the head of the household (Nana Patekar), and begins to pal around with his upstart daughter Ayesha, Venkatesh subtly but assertively sets his sights on a more comfortable way of life for himself and his friend, Jhangir.
Burn After Reading has a wide release beginning September 12th. The Coen Bros. script is loosely based on the novel "Burn Before Reading: Presidents, CIA Directors, and Secret Intelligence," by Admiral Stansfield Turner, who served as director of the CIA from 1977 to 1981. The contemporary East Coast caper is about a CIA agent who is writing a book and he loses the disc. Clooney plays the killer.
In wide release October 3rd is How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. The thinly fictionalized movie adaptation penned by Peter Straughan sees Pegg play the self-promoting British writer Toby Young in the movie adaptation of his bestselling book in which he detailed his disastrous stint as a contributing editor for Vanity Fair in New York. Young is merciless about his own hapless attempts to ingratiate himself with celebrities and impress supermodels. But he is equally scathing about the ego and grandeur of his boss, editor-in-chief Graydon Carter Carter, and the self-importance of the entire Vanity Fair machine. All names have been changed for the purposes of the movie -- Vanity Fair becomes Sharps magazine, for example, and Carter will be Clayton Harding.
Synecdoche, New York is set to release in October. Theater director Caden Cotard's (Hoffman) life in Schenectady, New York is looking bleak. His wife Adele (Keener) has left him to pursue her painting in Berlin, taking their young daughter Olive with her. A new relationship with the alluringly candid Hazel (Samantha Morton) has prematurely run aground. And a mysterious condition is systematically shutting down each of his body's autonomic functions. Worried about the transience of his life, he moves his theater company to a warehouse in New York City. He directs them in a celebration of the mundane, instructing each to live out their constructed lives in a growing mockup of the city outside. 
Flashof Genius releases October 17th in wide release. Based on a New Yorker article by John Seabrook, the script was written by Phillip Railsback, Scott Frank and Abraham. Kinnear plays Robert Kearns, the inventor of the intermittent windshield wiper, who spent most of his life battling the Detroit automakers he charged with stealing his invention. Graham, plays Phyllis Kearns, who watches her husband's obsession with legal retribution suffocate their marriage and put a strain on their children.
Pride & Glory releases October 24th. Written by Gavin O'Connor and Joe Carnahan, this is a generational drama about a family of police officers in New York torn apart by a corruption scandal. Norton is poised to play a homicide detective who is assigned to investigate the precinct run by his older brother (Emmerich). Farrell plays the investigator's best friend, a cop in that precinct who might be dirty himself.Thoughts on any of the one-sheets or synopsis? Any of them peak your interest?
