Cage Will "Kick-Ass"

A couple weeks back I did a story on Mark Millar's book "Kick-Ass" which was being adapted for film by Matthew Vaughn, well since then a few more actors are locked in to star in the indie film. THR reports that Nic Cage, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Aaron Johnson have been casted, they join Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz with production set to start in early fall.

The current comic book follows a high school dork who has absolutely no coordination or athletic abilities, but regardless tries to become a real-life superhero. Dave Lizewski begins training, creates a costume, and begins to try his hand at crime-fighting. Lizewski's first attempt is a complete failure and he is severly beaten and hospitalized. He is able to cover his story and say he was mugged, but this lie turns on him at school when rumors swirl, that his "mugging" was instead a "gay-bashing." Lizewski's next attempt at crime-fighting, has a completely different outcome and so begins the legacy of Kick-Ass!

Aaron Johnson (The Illusionist) will play the lead character Dave Lizewski. Lyndsy Fonseca will play Katie Deauxma who Dave has a major crush on and meanwhile Katie believes the rumors at school and takes Dave for gay. Nicolas Cage will play the father to Chole Moretz character. Cage's character is a former cop who wants to take down a drug lord and has trained his daughter as a deadly killer named the Hit Girl. Chole Moretz again is playing Hit Girl /Mindy Macready. Christopher Mintz-Plasse will play a Red Mist who his a villain to Kick Ass.
