Fast-Track & Re-Writes for Conan!

THR is reporting that lionsgate first $100 million dollar budget film "Conan," has been fast tracked! The production company has also hired a duo of writers to re-work the current script. Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain who have also written "Outlander" and "Amazon" have been hired to pen a new draft of the film. Producers say, "the writers have gone back to Howard's original stories to create a $100 million R-rated origin film." "We all want this movie to go into production as soon as possible," Malmberg said. "It's a fast-tracked movie. Lionsgate felt the process was enhanced by having a second team come in and do a script." "Fans expect (these types of movies) to be more true to the source material," Malmberg said. "There's no reason there couldn't be a Conan movie every two years. He's almost like Batman: He's a dark hero. He's a hard hero. He has to be badass, but we also have to like him." Well it certainly looks like Lionsgate is trying to reach their projected release date of 2009 very hard. There is no director attached as of yet! More definately to come on Conan.

This now makes 3 Conan or spin-off films in the works. Red Sonja and Thulsa Doom are also pre-production! Might we see all three of charcaters come together in one film? That would be Bad-ass! What are your thoughts on Conan or Red Sonja, and Thulsa Doom for that matter?
