Eli Roth is a Bastard!!

Variety is reporting tonight, director of Hostel and Cabin Fever, Eli Roth is in talks to be in Quentin Tarantino's Nazi WWII film Inglorious Bastards! Eli will play Sgt. Donnie Donowitz, who is a baseball bat swinging nazi hunter! Roth had also had a small role in Tarantino's Death Proof and has also had thirteen other bit parts in various films. Quentin Tarantino and Roth have been close since QT offered his name as a presenter for Roth's breakout film 'Hostel' (Cabin Fever, Roth's true first effort is far superior). Roth also directed a disgustingly hilarious faux trailer for Grindhouse, the double feature film released last year by QT and Robert Rodriquez, called Thanksgiving.

Brad Pitt was the first name revealed to be in the Taratino directed film and will be playing Aldo Raine, "leader of a rogue band of Jewish-American soldiers who wreak havoc on the bad guys in Nazi-occupied France." The rest of the cast is said to be finalized, shortly by Tarantino. Inglorious Bastards is set to begin production this fall in Europe for Universal and will be co-produced by the Weinstein Co.
