Ruffalo Directs "Sympathy for Delicious"

Variety reported yesterday, Corner Store Entertainment will produce a film called 'Sympathy for Delicious' written by Chris Thorton. The film is about "a paralyzed DJ struggling to survive in his wheelchair on the streets of L.A. He turns to faith-healing and mysteriously acquires the ability to cure the sick -- although not himself. A Jesuit priest who tries to help him come to terms with the limits of his gift, and a rock singer in a band that exploits the suddenly famous healer."

Sympathy for Delicious will be directed by first-timer Mark Ruffalo who will also star as the jesuit priest. James Franco will star in the feature as the rock singer and Chris Thorton as the paralyzed DJ. Pic will be produced by Andrea Sperling, Matthew Weaver, Scott Prissand, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Thornton, with Robert Stein and Joanne Jacobson exectuive producers.

Thoughts on Mark Ruffalo trying out directing? Does Sympathy for Delicious sound like a good project? Did you know Ruffalo was cast to be in 'Signs' but pulled out of the film because of a diagnosed brain tumor?
