Jolie Likes Salt More Than Cruise!

Columbia has been in development with actor Tom Cruise and director Philip Noyce for a film called "Edwin A. Salt." Cruise was set to star as "a CIA officer who's accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy and must elude capture long enough to establish his innocence." For unsaid reasons, Cruise is out and there will be a serious change to the films star. A gender change! Yep, that's right Variety is reporting that Angelina Jolie "took a liking to it, prompting the studio's decision to rewrite it. Sources said the project won't require that much of an overhaul to suit her." How about a title change!?! Screenwriter Kurt Wimmer will make the necessary change to the screenplay as a vehicle for Jolie.

My feelings on this film with either of these actors is pretty Blah! Angelina Jolie is an attractive woman, but in my humble opinion, a shitty actress! I would enjoy it very much if she went back to doing her United Nations work and left acting alone altogether! Tom Cruise is someone I use to really enjoy, but now he just feels like a royal douche bag! That smug smile, the glazed over look in his eyes, just drives me insane! He has had some phenominal roles Rain Man, Magnolia, Jerry Maguire, Far and Away, and Risky Business but outside of that ehhh! I am looking forward to seeing him in Tropic Thunder and the talked of Hardy Men movie with him and Ben Stiller. Regardless of my opinion of these two actors, a another espionage thriller with either of them is just a plain re-hash! Can't somebody else new try out being a spy for once. Cruise has done The Firm, Mission Impossible 1-3, Minority Report, and Collateral all that had an espionage vibe to them. Jolie is no different with Wanted, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Taking Lives, and Tomb Raider. This just seems like an weak attempt to latch on to the success that is the Bourne series. Consider me un-interested in Salt or whatever it is going to be called now that Jolie is on board!

Thoughts on Angelina replacing Cruise for Edwin A. Salt? Are you amped for Jolie in a espionage flick? Maybe you'll to see her get out of the shower again for like two seconds and all the teenage boys will run to go see it!

I just watched Salt after recently changing my employee subscription with DISH to include HD and was totally taken by surprise. I couldn’t believe that getting HD would make such a difference but it does especially in an action flick like this!
