Diesel to be a Marvel Villain?

Vin Diesel while doing the rounds for Babylon A.D. sat down with MTV and talked a little bit about why he has not been in a comic book film to date. Diesel looked quite intrigued by the question as if he had something to spill, but instead he beated around the bush, boasting that he had given alot. Diesel responded by saying, “I’ve been holding out, and the reason I’ve been holding out is because I’m waiting to do a film where the protagonist is...

House of Sand & Fog Meets Poltergeist?

A little bit ago I did a story on MGM bringing back Poltergeist, well it seems that the boys over at Bloody-Distgusting have some new word on the possible remake. Their source says Vadim Perelman, director of "House of Sand and Fog" and "The Life Before Her Eyes," is in heavy talks to direct the remake with MGM. My intial reaction was, really? House of Sand and Fog was an amazing film I loved it, but to move from that to horror, mind boggling! Clearly...

Being the home stretch and oscar season we are bound to find some diamonds in the rough out there, but here are 20 films that I have had my eyes on for a while now and all look quite good and some look phenominal! There were a few that almost made the list, but ultimately they are absent! Continuing along in the countdown, here's 10-6....

Universal-Rogue Developing Strangers 2!!

Universal-Rogue are in development to bring back Bryan Bertino to continue the Strangers story! Bertino will begin developing the sequel ASAP for Universal-Rogue with production set to start in early 2009. It has yet to be determined if Bertino will direct the sequel, but will be definatley writing and developing it.The Strangers is one of my favorite films of 2008 and really broke the current mold in horror movies. While everyone else is still...

"He's Just Not That Into You" One-Sheet

Being a lover of all things Ben Affleck (Yes, I even liked Gigli), I thought I'd throw the first one-sheet for Affleck's acting endeavor. The film is called "He's Just Not That Into You" and has a oustanding cast including Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connely, Scarlett Johansson, and Justin Long. Directed by Ken Kwapis the film revolves around the Baltimore-set movie of interconnecting story arcs that deals with the challenges of reading...

Max Payne Trailer

Video game adaptations have been huge for the at least the last five years and Max Payne is no execption. Mark Wahlberg stars as Max Payne and from the looks of the trailer, looks way too much like Constantine. Now I never played the game, but I don't ever remember seeing Angel looking things swooping around. Max Payne is directed by John Moore and stars beau bridges, ludacris, mila kunis, donal logue, marianthi evans alongside Mark Wahlberg. Max...

Review - Hamlet 2

A failed actor has become a high school drama teacher in Tuscon Arizona and has put on nothing but terrible productions. With the school district cutbacks, the drama department is the first to go, unless they can put on a show that will make the department standout. Mr. Marschz begins writing his own play, a sequel to the Shakespearean tragedy Hamlet. The play is completely political incorrect and very controversial, which begins an outcry in the...

Wright Talks Ant-Man!

Edgar Wright recently sat down with Wizard Universe and talked about a few projects he has been working on and the recent U.S. dvd release of his famed british series, "Spaced." (If you have never seen Spaced, pick up the series and watch it, you wont regret it) Edgar Wright was asked at the end of the interview about the status of Marvel's comic Ant-Man that he has been developing. Wright was more than pleased about the question and was quick to...

Preacher Too Dark for HBO

Mark Steven Johnson who was developing DC's widely popular 75 issue comic "Preacher" written by Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon for HBO. Well it seems that the producers at HBO have laid to rest "Preacher" and have deemed the project unsuccessful! It seems that the newest producer at HBO and Johnson did not see eye to eye. Johnson recently talked with Comic Continuum about the end of the Preacher's development at HBO. Mark Steven Johnson explained,...

Cage Will "Kick-Ass"

A couple weeks back I did a story on Mark Millar's book "Kick-Ass" which was being adapted for film by Matthew Vaughn, well since then a few more actors are locked in to star in the indie film. THR reports that Nic Cage, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Aaron Johnson have been casted, they join Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz with production set to start in early fall. The current comic book follows a high school dork who has absolutely no coordination...

Babylon A.D. Director Not Happy & Vocal!

Mathieu Kassovitz recently spoke with AMCtv, on August 25th about his upcoming film, "Babylon A.D." and he was more than vocal about his frustrations with FOX studios and cut of the film releasing friday in theaters. He bluntly said, "I never had a chance to do one scene the way it was written or the way I wanted it to be. The script wasn't respected. Bad producers, bad partners, it was a terrible experience."This project is something that has been...

Carrey is Definately Not Homophobic!!

Jim Carrey on his official site has released the first photo from his new film, "I Love You Phillip Morris." For some this may be a very shocking photo, but really if it were two chicks, they would be lip-locked in the shot! Yes, that's right Jim Carrey has decided to try a "gay" role. His lover, Ewan McGregor has tired it once before in "Velvet Goldmine," but Carrey at least is going out on a limb and trying some new avenues in his career. The official...

Glorious "CHE" One-Sheet!!

Steven Soderbergh newest two part epic "CHE" has had very positive reviews from Cannes and will be screened at the New York Film Festival on October 7th as one film. There has been no official release date for the U.S., but the film will be released as two films "The Argentine" and "Guerrilla" here in the U.S., eventhough it has been screened as one film at all its stops along the festival circuit. I personally would love to see it as "One" film...

Fast & Furious Trailer!!

Hate me you all want, but I am a big fan of the Fast & Furious franchise, and have enjoyed each movie for what they were. The original is a blatant rip of "Point Break" but like Point Break I can watch it every time! The second of the series was pretty bad, but had some good racing sequences, and I guess my "man crush" on Paul Walker made the film watchable (I have the hardest time re-watching "2 Fast 2 Furious" by far of all the films). Tokyo...

Transporter 3 Trailer

Jason Statham is back for another go-round of the Transporter films and this time it looks like it continues with much of the same. Taking a page from "Crank" Transporter 3 looks to have attached some timing devise to Frank Martin and if he removes it will blow up (see it above in the image on Statham's wrist)! Martin will continue to drive his Audi in the thrid film and looks to take his shirt off quite a bit throughout the trailer! Transporter...

Shia Looks to have "Fallen" on Transformers 2!

Shia LaBeouf has been back on set for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, and it looks like they may be doing scene work to explain LaBeouf's recent off camera accident. JustJared has some exclusive photos from the set and Shia is looking extremely battered with his shirt off and a splint on his injured hand. There is no action in these set photos, it is purely in between takes, but it still gives us an idea with just what Transformers 2 may...

"New York, I Love You" Teaser

In 2007 we were blessed with "Paris, je t'aime" which was a collaboration of twenty filmmakers that brought their stories of love, from a city of love. The film ws highly praised (84% on Rotten Tomatoes) and was in my Top 10 Films To See of 2007. Paris je t'aime's popularity has caused a second film, "New York, I Love You" which will feature twelve new directors sharing their stories of love, from another city of love.Directors this time around...

Superman, "Officially" Re-Booted!!

On Tuesday of this week, I had done a story on the status of DC and WB's film property Superman. WB and DC were at odds over whether to re-boot the superhero or continue with Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns" storyline and make a sequel which had been called "Superman: Man of Steel." The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that WB has made a final decision on the status of the franchise, and the final conclusion is "re-boot."Jeff Robinov told...

Fav's says He's Already Working on Iron Man 2

Ironman was both a box-office and critical success and Marvel definately has moved quickly to get the sequel up and running for its 2010 release date. Geoff Boucher, recently spoke with Jon Favreau and he had this to say about the sequel to his largely successful origin story, "We're working on it now, which hasn't been officially announced. It will be released in 2010." In fact Favreau is developing the script with Justin Theroux who is hot off...
