'Predators' Updates

This week a few new developments have generated some buzz around the announced "Predators" film that Robert Rodriguez is producing, Nimrod Antal is directing and penned by Michael Finch, Alex Litvak and Robert Rodriguez. This week Latino Review has reviewd the script and has given their blessing on RR's "Predators" ability to be a viable hit. We also have our first casting announcement, someone who is no stranger to Robert Rodriguez films. Read all the details on "Predators" below...

First up, Punch Drunk Critics had a chance to speak with Danny Trejo about wrapping production on "Machete" down at Trouble Maker Studios in Austin Texas. Trejo when asked if he had anything to say on Sin City 2, Trejo answered by revealing that "Predators" would be his next film. "Were gonna do Predator[s] next," Trejo said. He then elaborated telling John Nolan, "Yeah, we'll be doing Predator[s], in about a month," Trejo said. A month?!? That means we should definitely start to see actors begin to fill the cast very soon. Trejo did say that Sin City 2 is still a thought process. Meaning, it's still a ways off.

Just who Trejo will be playing in the Nimrod Antal directed film was not specified, however Latino Review who just turned out a positive review of the script say there is no doubt that Trejo will play a character named "Cuchillo". The guys over at Latino Review called the script, "Awesome!" and that it is "worthy of the original" Predator film. They give detail that script is a bloody hard R script (not a kid friendly PG-13) and note that if 20th Century Fox allows Rodriguez and his team at Troublemaker Studios to do their thing that Fox will definitely have a "blockbuster on their hands next summer."

The positive script review from the guys over at Latino Review does increase my intrigue on "Predators", but Fox has always muddied the waters with their projects and I remain weary they could do the same here. I hope not, the survival and hunting game described by Latino Review in "Predators" sounds awesome and the rag-tag group of characters will definitely be interesting to see filled. What say you? Does Predators sound good? Strikeback...
