Lionsgate Shifts 2010 Dates

News broke today that already gets me excited for San Diego Comic Con 2010! Lionsgate has announced a set release date for Matthew Vaughn's "Kick-Ass" and has also shifted Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables" from April 23rd to August 10th, 2010. While "Kick-Ass" will not be able to get a proper promotion at Comic Con 2010, Stallone's "The Expendables" most definitely will and I couldn't be more excited. For more details read on...

San Diego Comic Con is a one of a kind event. Those who have attended know and can also relish in all of it's glory. With Lionsgate pushing "The Expendables" to August it allows the studio to set up a solid promotion at Comic Con come July 2010. Stallone's most recent action-fest is a perfect match for the Comic Con crowd and is sure to gain a ton of interest after the 4 day event. Another enticing aspect to "The Expendables" having a potential Comic Con appearance is the prospect of a early screening! Yes, I am excited!

"Kick-Ass" release date sets up the film to open against "Piranha 3-D" directed by Alexandre Aja (recently rumored to be up for the "Halloween 3D" job), "Death at a Funeral" which is a African American remake of the 2007 Frank Oz British comedy and the SNL sketch comedy adaption of "MacGruber". I can't see all of these titles staying at this date, but I know my ass would be seeing "Kick-Ass" first and foremost come April 16th. More news on both "The Expendables" and "Kick-Ass" as they develop...
