Transformers 3 Rollout in 2011

Michael Bay has confirmed that the third Transformers movie will roll out into theaters on July 1st 2011. It was originally believed that would get "Transformers 3" the next year in 2012, but Bay confirmed on his personal website that he has begun pre-production on the second sequel. Bay also extended a snarky comment to Megan Fox assuring her she is welcome back for the next installment of robots. See Michael Bay's announcement and comments below...


Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

Personally, I could have waited a few more years before another Transformers film, but I guess allowing Bay to finish up the series is a good thing. I just hope Bay doesn't getter bigger again, I would rather see the series become a bit more focused and not so damn all over the place. More news on "Transformers 3" as it develops...
