For years there has been talk of a fourth Mad Max film and while talk has heated up and down, now it appears that is will actually happen. News broke last night that the fourth film titled "Fury Road" is set for production in Australia. Find out all the details below...
George Miller will return to the franchise that put his name on the map in "Fury Road". The fourth film with a production cost of $100 million, has been given the official greenlight, although there still is no studio backing at this point. "Fury Road" also does not have its lead. Miller has previously said that Mel Gibson will not be returning for "Fury Road" and last we had heard The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner was vying for the role. Who I think, is a perfect fit for the character!
What is confirmed is that Miller will shoot the film on location in Sydney and New South Whales in Australia. Miller, who is also producing the fourth film under his Kennedy Miller banner hopes to put New South Whales as a prime location for studios to shoot. Miller told the Daily Telegraph Newspaper, "The production agreements have been a long time in the making and (NSW) Premier Rees and his team have worked like Trojans to ensure this substantial investment comes into this country. Not only does it help fuel the local economy but it means many talented people get a chance to practice their craft and lift their skills." More news on "Fury Road" as it breaks...
