Ghostbusters 3 Updates, Sorta

"Ghostbusters 3" has been rumored and/or in the works for too long now. We know that writers from television's The Office were hired to hammer out a script that would see both the original team and some new recruits doing their duty to bust some ghosts, but not much else has been said, until now! Read all the full story below...

Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 director Ivan Reitman is attached to direct the third film. What is unclear is if Reitman actually wants to do it. The guys over at BD say that, "he hasn't decided whether or not he really wants to direct." My question is why not? Reitman directed the first two, so why not keep the ball rolling? Best guess is that Reitman has the been there done that mentality. The downside to this is if Reitman does not direct, most likely Harold Ramis would step in as director. I do like Ramis, but after Year One I am not so sure about him behind the camera while re-lighting the Ghostbusters candle.

BD breaks that "Ghostbusters 3" will open "when the paranormal researchers "reopen" their ghost removal service after it has been closed for quite a few years." No doubt, closed after the events that took place in Part 2. All of the original cast (excluding Rick Moranis) are set to return. We can expect Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver along with a few new recruits. Which can resurrect the old rumors of Judd Apatow's clan being involved to some degree. More news on "Ghostbusters 3" as it breaks...

In related news, this story brings to mind I Miss Moranis a hilarious video created by DJ Lubel that envokes my emotions on Moranis not being in "Ghostbusters 3". Check it out below...

What say you? Excited by the idea of Reitman directing Ghostbusters 3? Strikeback...
