The Wrestler Trailer & One-Sheet!!

Darren Aronfsky's newest film starring Mickey Rourke, "The Wrestler" has been recieving a large amount of buzz since doing the festival circuit. It appears that all of the positive buzz is very warranted. If a trailer is anything to gage a movie on, The Wrestler looks absolutely amazing! Being a child of the 80s I grew up loving the WWF Superstars and this film appeals to my inner kid. The Wrestling Circle is a tough road and so has been Rourke's career and it looks like The Wrestler matches the two up perfectly. Rourke's performance looks stunning and quite possibly a lock for Best Actor at either the Golden Globes or Academy Awards.

The official synopsis for The Wrestler: Back in the late ’80s, Randy “The Ram” Robinson (Mickey Rourke) was a headlining professional wrestler. Now, twenty years later, he ekes out a living performing for handfuls of diehard wrestling fans in high school gyms and community centers around New Jersey. Estranged from his daughter (Evan Rachel Wood) and unable to sustain any real relationships, Randy lives for the thrill of the show and the adoration of his fans. However, a heart attack forces him into retirement. As his sense of identity starts to slip away, he begins to evaluate the state of his life — trying to reconnect with his daughter, and striking up a blossoming romance with an exotic dancer (Marisa Tomei) who is ready to start a new life. Yet all this cannot compare to the allure of the ring and passion for his art, which threatens to pull Randy “The Ram” back into his world of wrestling.

The original song Bruce Springsteen has recorded for the film is also equally impressive. The trailer and everything I have seen or heard about this film just screams perfection. The Wrestler has a limited release December 31st and will expand in January. Checkout the official synopsis, trailer and one-sheet below or head over to Apple to see it in High Definition.

The Wrestler flat out looks insane! I cannot wait to see it. Anybody disagree? Strikeback...

What a trailer! I love the poster too. Can't wait to experience Rourke in a good role again.
