'Fury Road' Finds Max?

Last week we got wind that George Miller was indeed planning the fourth Mad Max films for a Aussie shoot next Summer. Well this week news has hit that really gets me intrigued. It appears that Miller has found his Mad Max to replace Mel Gibson. Find out who after the jump...

It appears George Miller is a fan of "Bronson" because word is spreading that Tom Hardy has landed the role of Mad Max in Miller's fourth film in the series titled; "Mad Max: Fury Road". If this news turns out, I can safely say that I am ecstatic about 'Fury Road'. Tom Hardy is a brilliant actor and deserves more recognition, than he has received thus far. Hardy's most notable role comes from this year's "Bronson" where Hardy plays Britain's most violent criminal. He also had a supporting role in Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla and can be next seen in Christopher Nolan's "Inception".

Also in final negotiations for a title role in "Mad Max: Fury Road" is Charlize Theron. Honestly, I can't stand Theron. She is a decent actress and deserves any credit she has been given, but something about her just irks me to no end. Theron would play a female lead opposite Hardy if both deals are finalized.

George Miller will write and direct the fourth film with producer Doug Mitchell. The plan is to begin shooting next Summer in New South Whales as reported last week. The plot details are being kept under lock and key, however it is believed that the fourth film, will take place shortly after the events from 'Beyond Thunderdome'. This news sadly means that The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner didn't get the part, but Tom Hardy doesn't feel like a consolation, instead he feels more so a step up.
