Duncan Jones has my attention. The talented young director gave us this year's "Moon ", which was absolutely mesmerizing and this week comes news of his next effort over at Summit Entertainment. Jones has a handful of projects on his plate and his next film sounds like it will most definitely be worth a watch. To find out exactly what Jones will be directing next, follow the jump...
Summit Entertainment has pegged Duncan Jones to direct "Source Code". The film was originally setup over at Universal in 2007 with Topher Grace attached to star, but has now shifted gears over to Summit. Topher Grace has also been quietly removed from the picture with actor Jake Gyllenhaal in final negotiations to take the lead.
"Source Code" follows a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it. Saving Private Ryan and The Patriot producer Mark Gordon will produce the scifi thriller for Summit and Vendome Pictures.
I couldn't be more excited to see more of Jones storytelling, although I was hoping that "Mute" would be his next feature film and not something Jones' hadn't penned himself. While "Source Code" sounds intriguing, I am really hoping that "Mute " doesn't fall by the wayside. More news on "Source Code" as it develops...
