Trailers: Daybreakers

Getting sick of vampires? Lionsgate surly hopes that you're not because they have "Daybreakers" releasing January 8th, 2010. At first mention of yet another vampire movie, I too was pretty skeptical, but after watching the two released trailers for the Peter and Michael Spierig directed action you could say that I am at the very least, intrigued. Checkout the trailers for "Daybreakers" after the jump...

Below I have included the first trailer released for "Daybreakers" which gives the viewer a solid breakdown of the synopsis. Essentially, in the near future, humans have become the minority while vampires have the numbers. The very few humans that are surviving and/or are not being harvested for blood, have banded together in order to rebuild the human population. The second trailer released (also below) is simply a concentrated version of the first trailer. Both trailers are highlighted with a wicked remake of a classic 80's song Running Up that Hill.

The two trailers really do generate a desire to the film despite the fact it releases in January. A month were the worst films tend to release in abundance. On a positive note, I do remember solid buzz coming from the festival circuit for "Daybreakers" which stars Ethan Hawke, Sam Neil, Willem Dafoe, Isabel Lucas and Claudia Karvan. Enough of my blabbering, checkout the trailers for yourself below...

What say you? Do these two trailers give you a thirst for Daybreakers? Strikeback...
