Jolie's latest is directed by Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games & Clear and Present Danger) titled "Salt". The espionage thriller was originally setup for Tom Cruise to star, but after he dropped out, Columbia/Sony reached to Angelina Jolie. While the story itself is yet another run of the mill spy stories, the action does look decent, however Angelia (as always), throws me off big time. "Salt"also stars Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor and follows Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) is a CIA officer who swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. When she is accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy, Salt goes on the run to clear her name and ultimately prove she is a patriot. Using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative, she must elude capture and protect her husband or the world's most powerful forces will erase any trace of her existence. this looks pretty good, just watched the trailer. i have the script but haven't read it yet. i'll let you know how it is.
Dude- i think she can totally be a strong actress, its just she seems to get pushed these roles that are the tough woman with no bra and a little tank top parts. She has quoted that she would love to play a strong woman who is also very feminine and I have only seen her in some of these more 'not so sexy' roles like 'Girl, Interrupted, The Bone Collector, A Mighty Heart, and Beyond Borders....this one she actually played her own role 'type' as a great humanitarian that she really is. I read somewhere she actually parts her earnings into thirds. Third to savings, a third to living expenses and the rest to charity. I think she's been handed so many of these roles as a sexy tough mamasita, cuz she is a sexy tough mamasita. It ain't just her big ass lips and husky voice, the woman's got the ability to act. She's got plenty of time to be handed some outstanding parts. You'll see man, you'll see. mwuahahahahahahahahahahaha.
I've seen all 4 Girl Interrupted, The Bone Collector, A Mighty Heart, and Beyond Borders. Each one was downright laughable and all of which were not very successful. She is a good humanitarian (I'll give you that) but in no way does she have ABILITY, all of her success has come from her sultry and sexy performances and not her ability.
you just gotta look past the sexiness. haha
