Favreau Hints War Machine!!

"Iron Man II" is halfway through shooting principal photography and details have been slowly seeping out about the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster hit. Director Jon Favreau recently spoke with Empire Magazine and spoke a bit about Stark's pressure in the sequel when dealing with his new superhero identity. The Iron Man director also hinted that Jim Rhodes could see some armoured action this time around! Checkout what Fav's had to say below...

First up Favreau spoke about Stark's expected role in the new movie now being outed as Iron Man. "Tony's expected to be a role model and I don't think he's ready to be one." Favreau's next comments may lead some Iron Man fans to believe that there is still hope for the "Demon in the Bottle" storyline they've hoped for. Favreau said, "He's under a great deal of pressure and when you're under pressure, I think you find outlets for that." Outlets? Like a bottle of scotch? Oh yeah, I likey! Favreau added, "That's one of the tensions of the film: it's one thing to say you're Iron Man, and another thing to actually become Iron Man."

So if Stark is busy finding "outlets" who will save the day you ask? Jon Favreau explained that Stark's good buddy Jim Rhodes (now played by Don Cheadle) will live out his "next time" quote from the first film. He tells Empire, "Rhodesy is definitely stepping up in this film. Let me put it this way: Tony's not the only person with technology in the film." Let's hope that means the birth of War Machine! It's one thing for Rhodes to just where one of Stark's Mark armour, but if Rhodes and Stark actually make the War Machine armour I think I just may have a joygasm!

What say you? Does Fav's comments lead you to believe we will see some of the Demon in the Bottle storyline and War Machine? Strikeback...
