Alien Remake Actually Prequel

Just a few days ago we got word from Bloody Disgusting that a remake of Alien was in the works, thankfully that news break was not entirely accurate. The guys over at Collider cornered Tony Scott at a recent "Taking of Pelham 123" press junket about the infamous remake that sent fans of the original into a firestorm. Ridley's brother Tony confirmed that another Alien film is in the works and Carl Rinsch is directing, but it is definately not a remake. Scroll down to see what Tony Scott told Collider...

Collider asked Scott what exactly is going on with 20th Century Fox wanting to remake or redo the original Alien. Tony Scott replied, "Yes, Carl Rinsch is going to do the prequel to Alien. He’s one of our directors at our company." The big word their being "prequel" and not remake! Thank god! I don't care of they make another crappy Alien sequel or prequel, but remaking such a classic film is a ridiculous! I do hope that the prequel is better than the recent crap Fox has put out with the Alien vs Predator franchise. Tony Scott went on to gloat how great Fox was to Collider and that he hoped that Rinsch would be in front of the camera directing by the end of the year. For the whole article head over to Collider.
