Today we have been treated to the first look at Summit Entertainment's logo for the sequel to Twilight, "New Moon." As you may have noticed from the above image the film is now being reffered to as "The Twilight Saga: New Moon." I guess Summit Entertainment want to remind everyone, just what New Moon is, or maybe they just wanted all of us who try to report as much entertainment and film news as possible typing their new lengthier title.
The logo comes courtesy of MTV and is very much in the same vein as the lettering used for Twilight. As for the "Twilight Saga" bit, I really don't think the extra wordage is necessary, the books are widely popular and all of the Twilight fans out there are feverishly following any updates that come, so they don't need to be reminded.
In other Twilight Saga news, the third book "Eclipse," has found itself a release date. Summit Entertainment confirmed with MTV that "Eclipse" will release June 30th, 2010 only seven months apart from the release of "New Moon." The two films will not be filming on a back-to-back schedule, which may leave whoever directs the third film in the saga a very short timetable to meet.
The official synopsis for "Eclipse" was also revealed to MTV. The official synopsis reads: "As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death."
What say you? Do you like the New Moon logo? Does it need the extra Twilight reminder? Is 7 months to short of a time table in between New Moon and Eclipse? Strikeback...
