Trailer: The Last Airbender

The teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" has hit the net almost a year before it is due to release next July 2nd, 2010. The first trailer is impressive to say the least and comes with a few surprises that one might have never expected from Shyamalan. Number one, the film looks to have a lot of cgi. Clearly to bring a story like Avatar: The Last Airbender to the screen, it is necessary. The second aspect may be overlooked by some, but "The Last Airbender" looks to have some a epic apsect ringing through. This film is the first of a proposed trilogy and Shyamalan looks to have stepped up his game with "The Last Airbender" and could very possibly have a Lord of the Rings-esque trilogy on his hands. I know, this is again only a teaser trailer and we still are over a year away before the film even releases, but I love Shyamalan's work (Yes, even Lady in the Water and The Happening) and truely hope that he can fall back into favor.

The official "The Last Airbender" synopsis reads: The story follows the adventures of Aang, a ten year old successor to a long line of Avatars, who must put his childhood ways aside and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water, Earth and Air nations. Checkout the trailer below...

What say you? Does The Last Airbender intrigue you? Will this series bring him back into favor? Strikeback...
