Now that Dark Knight is out, we can all begin to worry on the next big franchises coming to the big screen. Entertainment Weekly this week is filled with alot of new films exclusive photos including Harry Potter, Watchmen, Terminator Salvation, Friday the 13th, and Star Trek. Scroll down to check em out!
Terminator Salvation, hot off its trailer debut two days ago and it's upcoming panel next Saturday at Comic Con, has a exclusive picture in the new Entertainment Weekly. The picture features John Connors (Christian Bale), with a machine gun pointed at one of the terminator's head and a helicopter on top of it, (just to make sure it doesn't go anywhere). I was originally pretty reclutant about this film, especially considering McG was directing, but after the intial trailer and this new photo I am ready for Terminator Salvation. It looks like a breath of fresh air into the franchise and with Bale as Connor, the film is sure to do well at the box office! Terminator Salvation is currently in production and releases May 22, 2009.
Next up is Friday the 13th with our first look as Jason himself, looking quite menacing and ready to take a swim! Michael Bay recently said to EW, that there are some great twists within the first twelve minutes of the film! (What could it be!?!) Platnium Dunes has so far done a decent job with its remakes like 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and its prequel 'The Beginning,' and from last year 'The Hitcher.' Friday the 13th looks to be on that same path and should prove to be a great re-invision of the original series. Friday the 13th is currently in post production and is set to release Feburary 13, 2009. Friday the 13th also has a panel at Comic Con on Sunday.
What do you think? Are you as amped as me for both of these films? Will the remake of Friday the 13th suck like Zombie's version of Halloween did? Will it kick-ass like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake did? Does Terminator Salvation look like it is taking a good direction, "The End Begins"?
