Michael Bay Talks Friday the 13th remake!!

Michael Bay recently did an interview Entertainment Weekly and discussed his upcoming projects near and dear to his heart, namely Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen and Friday the 13th remake.

In his interview with EW, Bay said that, "It’s a reconception of the original. We’re introducing a whole group of new kids. What we always try to do is add a little bit of freshness to these movies that were really scary back then and update them for a new audience." Bay's last remake attempt with Platinum Dunes was Texas Chainsaw Massacre and was done with just enough flare and grit to keep the original and new fans happy alike. Bay went on to say that the remake is a "reconception" of the first two in the original series. He later added, "You’re just not going to believe the first 12 minutes!" So Bay is saying there will be a twist that we wont believe! Right "fucking" on! Earlier today, slashfilm.com reported that the twist was in Transformers 2, if you actualy read the article, Bay is directly talking about Friday the 13th remake and not Transformers 2. (You guys need to calm down on Rise of the Fallen)

When Bay was asked about the original's fans and how they may react to the remake, he said, "There are always haters out there, and you can’t get rid of that. We try to be faithful, and we’re fans ourselves. It’s like when I did Transformers — I listened to the fans, you know, but you still have to make your own movie by respecting what was done and trying to give it a whole new twist." The film is shot on location is Austin, where Bay's company filmed Texas Chainsaw also. Bay added, "In Austin, where we also shot Texas Chainsaw. Austin gives you a lot of looks." The plot has been guarded extremely close and only that the film will take place at Crystal Lake. There are rumors swirrling that the film will also feature a large part of the script in an Amish Historic Roscoe Village in Ohio. Who knows if that will actually happen though.

Friday the 13th is scheduled to release Feburary 13th, 2009. Untill then alot of rumors will continue to fill the internet. At this years Comic Con Friday the 13th will have a panel, Sunday. Director Marcus Nipsel with cast members will at the panel to do a Q&A session on the remake. The panel is scheduled at 1pm in ballroom 20, so don't miss it, if you are in attendance!
