Norton Uncertain of Hulk's Future & His!!

Edward Norton who has been a thorn in Marvel's side since the post production of "The Incredible Hulk," which was released earlier this year, says that he has been left in the dark regarding the character's future.

Norton was asked by MTV News if he had been approached by Marvel in regards to a sequel to "The Incredible Hulk" and/or "The Avengers" film which is slated for 2011 release. Norton told MTV, “The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque. I won’t say [they're] obtuse, but I don’t have any idea what they want to do.” Edward Norton esentially said that Marvel is not being very clear with him on what they want. For those of you that never put your nose into a dictionary the definition of Opaque is, "hard to understand or explain" and definition of Obtuse is, "difficult to comprehend : not clear or precise in thought or expression." Why wont Norton call them the later, they mean the same shit! It looks my friends, as if Norton is out of the loop, when it comes to the Hulk!

Could it be that Marvel doesn't want Norton back? Were they that unhappy with its box office total? Is Marvel considering if to even include Hulk in "The Avengers?" It is definately certain that "The Incredible Hulk" under-performed in the eyes of "Iron Man," it also did not even top the box office total of the original Ang Lee version of "Hulk." Marvel must be scratching their perspective heads wondering how to market and have a success with the Hulk. If the "thoughtful" version and the "Hulk Smash" version both did not meet what they intended, what do they do know? Personally, I love both films. I thought both were great in their own regard. Both Norton and Bana were great as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and either one I am happy with. So what the hell is Marvel doing? Leaving Hulk out of "The Avengers" wouldn't be that big of a deal. He isn't that big of a character in its universe. He definately would add a certain flare though! Hulk only participated in the original Avengers and from time to time after that, so exclusion could go very well un-noticed. Hulk is merely a nusance in the Avenger world anyways and it seems [he] is the same in the eyes of Marvel.

Edward Norton concluded the interview with one more bit regarding Marvel's ideas with their properties. Norton added, “They’ve got this notion of collecting the Marvel characters. Who knows where they’ll go?” It definately sounds like Marvel has intentionally left Norton out of the "know." Favreau and Robert Downey Jr have made it seem like they have intended on continuing to add to the build-up of the film and in what general direction they are going. Meanwhile, Norton is in the dark. Let's just say this might come down to Norton's more than publicized criticism in the post production process in many films he has worked on in the past.
