Scripting Batman 3 & The Flash

Comic book properties have been riding a wave of endorsement for a few years now with every major or indie studio trying to grab a piece of the pie. Warner Brothers who have DC comic properties locked down, have been somewhat quiet since the explostion that was last year's The Dark Knight. Since then, WB and DC have put alot of their projects on hold and were making absolutely sure that each property would be well thought out and not just crap out sequel or shitty movie one after the other. Case and point Superman, WB is nursing this property like nobody's business. They just cant figure out what to do with the man in blue. However, two properties that have had some momentum are beginning to heat up over at Warner Bros., so here's the rundown for you below...

Although speculation has been rampid on a sequel to "The Dark Knight" little to nothing had been done, up untill now! Producer Chuck Roven confirms that Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Nolan and Daivd Goyer are now hard at work penning a third film in Nolan series. Roven exclaimed, "The creative driver of the project at this point is Chris. There’s really nothing more for me to say about that. When he feels that he’s got something to talk about, then we’ll be able to talk about it." IESB asked Roven if he had any knowledge of who the possible villains could be and all the executive could do was muster up a smile and a chuckle.

Another DC comic that has been trying to transition to screen for some time now is, "The Flash". A few scripts have been written, but nothing that WB wanted to greenlight. Multiple sources have revealed that a new writer is going to take a crack ultra-fast superhero. Dan Mazeau, who has apparently just finished a kickass "Johnny Quest" script for WB, will get right to work on "The Flash". Let's hope he does indeed whip up an outstanding script, so we can see the human lightining bolt racing into cinemas soon than later. Producer Chuck Roven also spoke a bit about The Flash, "I was always a big fan of the comics. I was around for… Gosh, this is embarrassing, you know, the last two Flashes. The Flash that was the policeman and Kid Flash, Wally, and his uncle. Those are the two Flashes that I grew with, so I was excited to have the opportunity to try and see if I could actually translate those characters to the screen."

More to come of these two popular comic characters as news becomes available...

What say you? Excited for another Batman? Who do you want as the villain? Are you a fan of The Flash? Which version of the character would translate the best to screen? Strikeback....
