If you have never read the "Watchmen" comic book you probably have no clue what the sam hell, "Tales of the Black Freighter" is. It is a companion comic that is embedded within the pages of Watchmen as a story within a story. The story tells a tale of a marooned mariner who must endure a deathly trip to his home town. WB felt the best option for the companion comic was to do a striaght-to-dvd cartoon to tell the story and landed Gerard Butler to voice the grizzly story. Warner Brothers in aligment of the Watchmen movie release have decided to release the dvd on March 24th a few weeks after Watchmen releases. The dvd will include "The Tales of the Black Freighter" & "Under the Hood" along with a couple of extras including a deleted scene that will not be seen in the Watchmen theatrical release.
