Vin Diesel has "Fast & Furious" releasing Friday but, he already has his sights on future films that are in the works. Diesel recently spoke with MTV News about his future and gave some insight that he'd love to play a Marvel villain. Checkout what he had to say below...
“I would be more apt to play a villain,” Diesel revealed to MTV News. “[I'd like to play] the protagonist of a story that is also like a Marvel villain — like Doctor Doom or something.” What a tick, Fantastic Four? Wasn't that project deemed dead? After a little digging, IESB is reporting that 20th Century Fox is looking to give Fantastic Four the darker treatment instead of the family friendly fare of the previous two films. 20th Century Fox is also looking at doing the same thing with both Planet of the Apes and Daredevil, another Marvel property.
So, Vin Diesel is apt to play a Marvel villain, but there's more. Diesel tells MTV he has a few other favorites in the Marvel Universe. “I have some superhero favorites,” Diesel admitted. “I talked to ['The Surrogates' director] Jonathan Mostow about ‘Sub-Mariner,’ which could be interesting because of its World War II-New York connection.” If a Sub-Mariner film is optioned, Diesel would be a nice choice for the angry amphibian man. Furthermore, Captain America once fought alongside Namor back during WWII, which could be a cool Marvel tie-in.
What say you? Would Diesel work as Dr. Doom or Sub-Mariner? Which would you rather see? Strikeback...
