As Quentin Tarrantino predicted, Variety is reporting he will be premiering his latest film, "Inglourious Basterds" at this years Cannes Film Festival in May. This will be the first public viewing of the QT directed film before is scheduled release date, August 21st.

This won't be QT's first go-around at Cannes. He has previously won Cannes in 1994 with Pulp Fiction and took his last film Death Proof there in 2007. Tarantino also featured the full length version of Kill Bill in 2004 when he served as president of the festival jury.

The film stars Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Mike Myers, Eli Roth, Sam Levine, B.J. Novak, Til Schweiger, Michael Fassbender and Cloris Leachmen. The film is being co-backed by Universal and QT's longtime production company the Weinstein Co. "Inglourious Basterds" official synopsis reads: In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.

In other "Inglourious Basterds" news this month's issue of Vanity Fair has six new images for the film. Most are just pictures taken of the actors in character. The best image shows QT along with some of the major cast members. Checkout the new images below...
