Summit Chews Zombie Rom-Com

Summit Entertainment has made their mark in the Vampire and Werewolf genre and now the studio intends to make its mark in the zombie genre as well. Following the trend of Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland Summit intends to make a zombie rom-com, but this time, from the perspective of a zombie. Read all the details after the jump...

Summit Entertainment have The Wackness and All the Boys Love Mandy Lane director Jonathan Levine currently drafting a script based off Isaac Marion's book titled "Warm Bodies." Marion's book which is yet to recieve anything other than a 100 copy release was inspired from a brilliant short story he wrote called "I Am a Zombie Filled with Love." The short story is read from the perspective of a zombie and is absolutely entertaining. The short story can be found online (here). I highly recommend you all take a gander. It's a very short read, but worth every second.

For now, "Warm Bodies" is very much in the infancy stage of development. Jonathan Levine is currently penning the script and will turn in a first draft before he rolls camera on his current project (Levine replaced Nicole Holofcener as director for the Seth Rogen and James McAvoy comedy titled, "I'm with Cancer"). Jonathan Levine in theory could begin working on "Warm Bodies" once "I'm with Cancer" wraps. Obviously no casting has been announced or a time table by Summit Entertainment other than Levine is currently working on the script. I would gage that "Warm Bodies" could potentially hit cinemas in 2012. Stay tuned for more on "Warm Bodies" as it decays...

One last thing. Take a look at Issac Marion's trailer for his yet to release novel "Warm Bodies" below.
