G.I. Joe 2 Writers Hired!

Whether you were a fan of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra or not, Paramount is moving forward with a sequel. The first film did quite well and the studio has hired two writers that may really get a lot of people gung-ho for the sequel. Find out whom Paramount has snatched to pen a G.I. Joe sequel after the jump...

I am pleased to report that Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been hired by Paramount to pen a G.I. Joe sequel. Outside of the confirmed hired writers not much else is known surrounding G.I. Joe 2. There is no confirmation that Stephen Sommers will return or any time table as to when the film will move into production. For now, its up to Reese and Wernick to deliver a worthwhile script that Paramount is willing to move forward on.

With Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick signing on to pen a G.I. Joe sequel, the duo have their work cut out for them. They now are working on scripts for a sequel to both G.I. Joe and Zombieland as well as a "Deadpool" film for Fox. Hopefully the duo haven't stretched themselves to thin. Only time will tell.

As far as Reese and Wernick writing a G.I. Joe sequel, I couldn't be more pleased. I really enjoyed what they brought to Zombieland and am excited to see what they can do with one of my childhood playthings. Stay tuned for more as it develops...
