Speed 3...Keanu says, "Not With Me"

A couple days ago AICN ran a story of a possible script floating around for a third "Speed" film. The script was said to be centered on re-introducing the character Keanu Reeves made popular, Jack Traven in the first film. The breaking news also included the hope of FOX studios that Keanu would return for the sequel.

It seems that those hopes, may only be hopes for FOX. Keanu Reeves told IGN at the red carpet premiere for his upcoming film "The Day the Earth Stood Still" he knew nothing about it and wants nothing to do with it. Reeves said, "I honestly don't know anything about it. I don't know if they are going to make another one, and if they are it won't be with me... honestly!"

Keanu must still have an open wound when it comes to his memory of "Speed" because he clearly displays that he wants no part in any sequel to Speed. This shouldn't come as any surprise considering Reeves wanted nothing to do with "Speed 2: Cruise Control" and rightly so! The sequel was so bad, I still have a terrible taste in my mouth!

Speed 3 with Keanu, is intriguing, but without him....no dice! The original Speed was a, dare I say it, great film. Yes, damn it, it was! Dennis Hopper was a perfect villain, the film moved like the title suggests and Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock had great chemistry on screen. Speed is a film, that is generally watched on a yearly basis, so the idea of Keanu returning would be pretty inticing, but without him...I'll pass.

What say you? Are you game for another Speed sequel? Would you see a another Speed without Reeves? Strikeback....
