Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn are back together again in Couples Retreat a film the two worked up together with specific actors in mind. The film follows Jason Bateman who wants to patch things up with his wife, Kristen Bell and plans a therapy vacation inviting three other couples who have no idea that the "vacation" is a Couples Retreat revolving around relationship therapy.

Along with Bell and Bateman, Couples Retreat stars Jon Favreau, Kristen Davis, Vince Vaughn, Malin Akerman, Faizon Love and Kali Hawk. Jean Reno (Leon: The Professional) will play Monsieur Marcelle who created the non-optional therapy retreat in the exotic isle of Bora Bora, while John Michael Higgins (Best in Show) will play one of the confrontation therapists. Couples Retreat is directed by first timer and most known for his role as Ralphie in A Christmas Story, Peter Billingsley and is currently shooting in the South Pacific.

Vince Vaughn told USA Today a little bit about the story he and Favreau created, "Jason and Kristen are Type A's struggling to have kids. Faizon and his wife have just separated, and he is dating a young girl from Foot Locker (Kali Hawk). Me and my wife (Malin Akerman of 27 Dresses) are swamped with the kids and work. Favreau and Kristin Davis are secretly not completely faithful to each other."

So each of the couples will definately have their issues to sort out, but do not expect the film to be too raunchy. Vaughn conituned on by saying the film will be an "adult" PG13. "We don't believe in swearing for swearing's sake," Vaughn stressed. However, Vaughn did point out that the film will still be filled with sexual gags adding, "yoga teachers who are overly enthusiastic about putting people into poses." With this cast a hard R rating would have been a a better sell, but with Vaughn's witty dailogue, Favreau writing the script, Couples Retreat should be a fun romantic comedy. At least it will be interesting to see Peter Billingsley's first effort behind the camera.

Does Couples Retreat sound up to par? The cast is outstanding and with Vaughn and Favs working together, could it be all that bad? Strikeback...
