'Tower' & Prometheus Circle Talent

Two projects I have a solid amount of interest in are Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" and Ron Howard's adaptation of Stephen King's beloved saga "The Dark Tower." Both projects have a bit of steam behind them and now seem to be circling some solid talent as well. Take a look below to see who has been cast or is circling the anticipated projects....

Smith Pimping His Kids Again

I'm use to remakes. They are as much apart of Hollywood as original content. Every year more and more movies are made that borrow from or are a direct remake of other films and that is fine, but every once in a while a piece of film nostalgia comes up and it gets my blood boiling. This time it's the classic musical "Annie." A film I grew up with, one that was one of my first theatrical experiences. Now its seems that Will Smith has joined up with...

Take a look below to see just who they are....

X-Men: First Class Images

X-Men fans last memory of a movie have been pretty bitter. Let's face it, Brett Ratner shit all over the franchise with 'The Last Stand' and 2009's origin tale of Wolverine did nothing to put fans at ease. Instead it only further aggravated the situation. Now here we are less than 6 months away from another prequel titled "X-Men: First Class" and a plethora of new images are propelling our way. Take a look at the 'First Class' below....

Summit Scripting RED Sequel

One of the most surprisingly fulfilling actions of last year was Summit Entertainment's "RED." A movie that I thought would be just another ho-hum action fiesta that ended up being a highly entertaining romp filled with a cast of aged thespians. I wasn't the only one who enjoyed the AARP filled action and as a result Summit Entertainment has opted to hire screenwriters for a second installment of aged shenanigans. Check out the full report belo...

'The Grey' Aims to Show Teeth

Man vs. Nature movies always seem to perk my interests. Today news has broke that Joe Carnahan's latest film, "The Grey" is ready to begin production next week in British Columbia. The movie follows a group of roughneck oil workers who are stranded in the frozen Alaskan territory after a plane crash. Thats not all, the crash just so happens to be amidst a pack of wolves that will kill anything that comes within 30 miles of their den. Checkout the...

'James' Reunion in Cogan's Trade

Back in 2007 I was blown away by Andrew Dominik's directorial follow up to Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. The movie played into all the themes I love and Dominik's direction was to say the least vivid. Fast forward to today and news has broke that a number of actors from 'Robert Ford' have been cast in Dominik's latest effort. A film based on George V. Higgins crime novel "Cogan's Trade." Read the full...

Another year is upon us and seems how I'm in the list making mood I decided to rattle off a number of 2011 movies That I am excited about seeing. Expectations can sometimes be a bitch and there is no guarantee any of these titles will be good, but regardless I'm interested in them....

Best of 2010

2011 is here and I've seen as much as I could in the previous year. Finished 2010 seeing 153 titles that released in U.S. theaters with the very least of a New York and Los Angeles limited release. From that pool of films comes my Top 10 of 2010. Included along with my Top 10 are a couple films that deserve recognition. A combination of honorable mentions and films that have yet to find distribution but are nonetheless powerful films in 2010. So...
