Trailer - Lawless

John Hillcoat is a director I have my eye on. He has directed two of my favorite movies of the last ten years in "The Road" and "The Proposition." Both of those movies have been essentially swept under the rug despite their impact. It seems that The Weinstein Company is continuing to treat Hillcoat and his work as second fiddle. Back in March TWC bumped Hillcoat's latest film for a second time to Memorial Day weekend, one of the slowest movie going weekends of the year. Despite the Weinstein's treatment of a product that should be heavily promoted I am here to try and keep awareness and interest up for Hillcoat's next feature. Weinsteins Distributing Cogan's Trade

Last week I reported some casting reports about the soon to be filming crime drama "Cogan's Trade"with Brad Pitt in the title character and directed by The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford director Andrew Dominik. Piranha 3D Sequel Fast-Tracked

News broke this week that The Weinstein Company and Dimension are taking notes on Lionsgate's yearly release pattern and plan to have a Piranha 3D sequel in theaters by next Summer. The studio has gone ahead and hired both a screenwriting team and a director. Checkout the full report below...

Lussier Directing Halloween 3-D

Last night Dread Central confirmed that My Bloody Valentine 3-D director Patrick Lussier will indeed direct the next installment of Halloween for the Weinstein Co. and Dimension Films. "Halloween 3-D" will begin production this November and plans to release late summer 2010. Read more below...
