Trailer: Green Lantern

Warner Brothers is gearing up for their first major DC hero outside of Batman and Superman hitting the big screen next summer and last week our first full length trailer hit the net. Ryan Reynolds is Hal Jordan who will become the "Green Lantern" a superhero who protects the galaxy. I've been eagerly awaiting this film and its nice to finally have a trailer to gauge the movie by. Take a look for yourself below...

A couple things I walk away with from this trailer. First the scope of the film looks spectacular. Green Lantern protects Earth as well as the Universe and this film needed to capture a massive size to it, which it looks to have done fairly well. Secondly the film looks to have a fair amount of action in it. While a lot of this action may be CG, the action will definitely be turned up. Third, the Batman Begins effect is not in motion. Meaning so many superhero movies have elected to take the serious approach with the characters and here it looks like "Green Lantern" will remain fun and not become to latched on to the reel world mentality. I could be wrong, but the Martin Campbell directed DC hero probably is not going to be as serious as good old Bats has been lately. "Green Lantern" releases June 17th, 2011. Stay tuned for more as it breaks...
