Les Grossman Movie on Way

I've never been a big Tom Cruise fan, he is an egotistical maniac, one that has way too much credit for mainly sub-par acting over his career. What boggles my mind is that Cruise embodying exactly what he is has worked in his favor. Plenty of people including me enjoyed his character in Ben Stiller's action comedy Tropic Thunder, but now were gonna have to watch a full length movie because of the success of a 15 minute character. Take a look at the full report after the break...

Last weekend Tom Cruise made a special appearance at the MTV Movie Awards as his character from Tropic Thunder, Les Grossman. This skit/appearance made some people believe that Cruise is trying to get a feature length movie about Les Grossman happening. It turns out, those people were right, Paramount has hired "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" scribe Michael Bacall to pen a draft for Cruise.

I hate this idea immensely. The foul-mouthed Les Grossman is hysterical in Tropic Thunder for one reason, the part is very small and delivered in sporadic doses. A whole movie with Cruise "acting" like an megalomaniac is going to be a chore to get through any way you look at it. This reminds me of all the Saturday Night Live movies that have failed miserably. Sketches that work in small doses, but when given the spotlight quickly become tedious at best. Stay tuned for more on this painful idea as it develops...
