New 'Green Hornet' Stills

"The Green Hornet" has had itself a bit of a rocky process from inception but were finally starting to see what the finished product will look like. Today two new stills have been revealed and I have them here for you below. Since this title was announced I've gone back and forth on excitement level and these new stills are not helping. Take a look after the jump...

I'm sorry but Seth Rogen just looks off in these two stills. I gotta hold out hope that the movie ends up being better than its track record, but sadly things aren't adding up. The track record I speak of requires a bit of backstory to the project which has had its fair share of hiccups. See here and here for a few of them. The film now directed by Michel Gondry has had its share of release date changes as well. In the header image you can see the original release date, which shifted to December 2010 and now its seems that Columbia Pictures will release the action on January 14th, 2011.

As for "The Green Hornet" release, Columbia has gone ahead and tried to add all of the current gimmicks trending in Hollywood in order to get your butt in the cinema. The movie will release in both regular cinemas and IMAX along with being projected with both traditional and 3D technology. It should be noted the movie was not filmed in 3D and should probably be avoided in that format. Why see a 3D movie unless the movie was actually filmed in 3D. Take a look at the official synopsis below.

Official synopsis: Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles' largest newspaper fortune, is a rich, spoiled playboy who has been happy to maintain a direction-less existence. When his father James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, Britt meets an impressive and resourceful company employee, Kato (Jay Chou). They realize that they have the resources to do something worthwhile with their lives and finally step out of James Reid's shadow. Kato builds the ultimate weapon, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car with every weapon and gadget imaginable and Britt decides that in order to be heroes, they will pose as villains. With the help of Britt's new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). He has united all the gangs under his power, and he quickly sees that the Green Hornet is a direct threat to the prosperous criminal underworld he controls.
