I've always been a howling fan of werewolves. Whether it is a teen comedy like Teen Wolf or an all out horror like The Howling, if it has something to do with Werewolves, I'm watching it. Yesterday news broke that some more werewolf inspired films are coming our way in the near future. Read the full report for a breakdown on what we can expect...
I'll get the news with the less info out of the way first. Hot off it's first successful week at the box office, Hot Tub Time Machine's director Steve Pink is attached to direct an R-rated comedy about werewolves. The comedy is said to be an ensemble film that follows a group of males as they become werewolves. The comedy with a horror twist is titled, "Werewolves of Reseda." The concept was put together by writer Brian Frank, although it appears he has not penned the screenplay. Lawrence Grey is reportedly set up to produce the werewolves inspired comedy that is described as Teen Wolf meets The Hangover. No production company has been announced at this point either.
While there isn't much to go on with this news, I'm excited. I halfway liked Pink's first directorial effort Accepted and Hot Tub Time Machine was a blast. Not to mention this is about werewolves!!! Stay tuned for more on "Werewolves of Reseda" as it develops.
That is not all! There is even more werewolves in our future! David Hayter who penned screenplays for X-Men, X2, The Scorpion King and Watchmen is up for his first shot at directing. Hayter is looking to have a July start date for his latest titled, "Wolves." The film that is said to have more bite than the Twilight saga and has a projected $18 million dollar budget. Hayter explained the concept as, "A metaphor for a teen maturing sexually into adulthood, at the age when young men howl at the moon." No cast has been announced as of yet, but with a July start date, we should start to see news developing shortly. Stay tuned more further updates...
