Captain America Set Images

"Captain America: The First Avenger" has been filming in the UK for just about two months now and we finally have a real look at the Captain America suit in action! Well, not Chris Evans suited, but his stunt double. Also included in the released set stills is a look at some HYDRA agents and vehicles. Take a gander after the jump...

Back at SDCC in July fans in Hall H were treated to test footage of Chris Evans in full costume as Captain America, but today everyone can finally get their first look. In the new images below we can see Evan's double riding a military issue Indian motorcycle. The images also reveal Captain America's shield that was on display at Comic Con 2010. Take a look.

So the question is, what is Captain America doing riding around on this military issue Indian motorcycle? Is he just out for a leisurely ride? Are those bullet marks on his shield? While none of these questions have been outright answered by Marvel or anyone involved in the production of "Captain America: The First Avenger" the next two images do give us a few clues.

These are both HYDRA vehicles. How do I know this? Because of the insignia's on them. On both futuristic motorcycles and on the hood of the car is this symbol (pictured right). Another huge giveaway is the masked riders. One major aspect to HYDRA has always been anonymity and these masked riders are exactly that.

Merely speculating here but, it would seem that HYDRA has attacked Captain America and he is pursuit of them or vice versa. Perhaps Captain America's location was given away and HYDRA agents were sent in to hunt him down? Either way both Captain America and these HYDRA agents are in some form of pursuit. Something we can learn the full understanding of when the movie hits theaters next year on July 22nd.

As far as the Captain America costume I'm 50/50 on it. I think the design looks great, but it doesn't seem to fit the stunt double as well as it should. Furthermore, it looks a bit tacky. It looks like a costume I could go out and buy. The suit needs something. Hopefully Marvel will be adding some flare in post. Another thought is that this is not the final suit. This is perhaps just the USO suit that Steve Rogers is outfitted in for the show he is being paraded around in. Only time will tell.

Stay tuned for more "Captain America: The First Avenger" news as it continues to break...
