There has been plenty of negative press surrounding Kevin Smith as of late, but if his upcoming film "Red State" turns out anything like what he's talking it up to be, there's gonna be quite a bit of crow eating by a majority of press out there. Closing in on 'Red State'

I know many journalists, bloggers and fans of Kevin Smith have been not too happy with the long time director in recent years. He's certainly hit a skid not directing a great film we know he's capable of since Dogma. Sure Clerks 2 and Zach and Miri Make a Porno were amusing, but nothing close to his early days. Stifler to 'Hit Somebody'

At the start of this month I told you about Kevin Smith's latest project. No, not his contempt for SouthWest Airlines, but his pitched hockey film titled "Hit Somebody." Well it seems that Kevin Smith took time out to talk hockey with NHL.com and also spoke about who will star in the upcoming movie based off Warren Zevon's song of the same name. Smith Shopping Hit Somebody

Kevin Smith has longed to make a film he feels extremely confident about since his 1997 acclaimed film Chasing Amy. Knowing that Mr. Smith is an epic hockey fan, it is not a shock that the comedic director feels he has his best work in "Hit Somebody." With confidence on his side, Smith recently revealed on his Twitter feed that he has begun to shop the Hockey drama set back in the hay-day of the brutal sport. Read the full report after the break...
