Marvel Making More Headlines

Since this last weekend Marvel news has been swirling about pretty frequently, well sorta. First we learned that Marvel would be replacing Edward Norton as the Hulk in the upcoming "The Avengers" movie through what most would say was a fairly nasty announcement. That was followed by retorts by Norton and his representatives which proved he knew how to take the high road. In the meantime, Marvel is chomping at the bit to get a replacement named in time for Comic Con and over 5,000 screaming fans in Hall H. We've seen rumors that Joaquin Phoenix might be the next Banner, but today Deadline is reporting that a new "name" is in late-stage negotiations to play Bruce Banner aka the Hulk. X-Men First Class Roll Call


"X-Men: First Class" has been building up for awhile now but we are finally getting closer to a full cast and a proposed shooting date. With that being said, I figured I would give us all a breakdown of what's happening so far. Crank Duo Eyeing Ghost Rider

Sony/Columbia has been moving fairly slowly on developing a sequel to the 2007 Ghost Rider. The Marvel comic was widely panned by critics but was able to make a substantial profit at the Box Offices worldwide. With potential to make a fistful of money again, there is no reason to question why the studio is moving forward with "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance." This month news has surfaced that Crank and Crank: High Voltage directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are in talks to direct the aforementioned sequel. Marvel and now Disney have a vast library of characters at their disposal. Not every one of these characters however have a huge dedicated following like Spider-Man, X-Men or Iron Man.
