Dune Adds New Scribe

Last month "From paris with Love" and Taken director Pierre Morel was hired by Paramount to tackle a re-boot to the popular Frank Herbert novel "Dune." Morel went on record that he wanted to make a more faithful adaptation of Herbert's work compared to David Lynch's 1984 version. In line with Morel's earlier statement, Paramount has hired Chase Palmer to inject the director's ideas into the pre-existing script penned by Josh Zetumer. New Director for Dune

Paramount Pictures has been planning a adaptation of "Dune" for a couple of years now. The studio originally had Hancock director Peter Berg attached to direct but he steeped down back in October of 2009.
